Types of Roll Guard Cradles

The packaging industry has benefited so much from roll cradles. These innovative packaging solutions changed the way goods are arranged for transportation and, in doing so, effectively lowered the risk of mechanical damage. Today, guard cradles, as they are also called, are made from various materials. Based on materials from which they are made, there are:

Single Roll

The single roll guard cradles are made from 100% recycled fiber. The environmentally-friendly concept is designed to conform with local conservatory laws. Single roll guard cradles are Fat Roll Single Cavity and 2 Cavity Roll Cradle. They typically have a diameter between 20” to 24” and are used singly, i.e., only one side is usable.

The reinforced edges and ridgelines give the single roll guard cradle superior strength and comfort. The tough material is durable and can withstand mechanical impact more than traditional packaging. Fiber absorbs moisture and keeps the integrity of the goods intact during transportation. Efficiency is guaranteed using the single roll cradle.

Single Roll Double Sided

As an efficient roll cradle, the single roll double-sided cradle offers all the advantages of the single roll cradle. But it goes beyond offering double-sided protection. Both sides of the cradle are built with protecting cavities so that goods can fit at the top and bottom. The typical diameter is 10”.

The single roll double-sided cradle makes it easy to achieve compactness during packaging. Goods can be packaged end-to-end using the double-sided cradle. The efficiency of roll cradles makes them a great choice for packaging both small and large goods for transportation. The sheer durability of the roll cradle means that a roll cradle is reusable for some cycles.

Clamshell

Clamshell cradles have diameters between 1.5” to 30”. They are designed to protect goods of different shapes with sizes typically larger than what the single roll cradle can hold. For protection, clamshell cradles always come in pairs. This creates the clamshell effect -offering all-around protection. The reinforced material is typically stronger and more durable than other cradles. Yet, clamshell cradles offer exciting benefits during transportation.

You can never go wrong with reinforced fiber cradles. The rising costs of goods transportation show the importance of minimizing risks and moving goods safely. The risk is significantly lowered with roll cradles, and protection is significantly increased.
